Occupants take up residence in Uptown Tower, Dubai's latest skyscraper.
Uptown Tower, Dubai's latest skyscraper, has officially welcomed its inaugural group of office tenants. The Grade A commercial office space, spread across 22 floors and totaling 495,000 square feet, is now occupied by 31 diverse companies. Among the early tenants are multinational giants like Invisalign and Wellbred, with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Hikvision expected to move in during the third quarter. Additionally, Uptown Tower has introduced several retail and food-and-beverage establishments, including allday and Jones the Grocer.
Situated in the Uptown Dubai area, which will also feature two renowned supertall structures and seven mid-rise towers, Uptown Tower stands as the first tower in this development. Upon completion, this district will redefine the concept of mixed-use developments in the region, offering a wide array of shopping and dining options, five-star hotels, immersive living spaces, and a sustainable neighborhood.
"The inclusion of Uptown Tower enhances DMCC’s business district’s overall capacity, continuing to attract a record number of new businesses from across the globe," stated the Dubai Free Zone in a recent announcement. After an exceptional year in 2022, during which DMCC welcomed 3,049 new members to its district, the first half of 2023 has also shown strong performance, with 1,456 new businesses establishing themselves in Dubai.
Through Uptown Tower, international enterprises in the commodities sector have joined the DMCC ecosystem, reinforcing Dubai's position as a major global hub for commodity trading, especially in diamonds, hydrocarbons, and metals. Hikvision's presence underscores the robust tech ecosystem established by DMCC, highlighting Dubai's attractiveness to international technology businesses. This is particularly significant as China continues to invest in the UAE, with trade between the two nations expected to reach $200 billion by 2030. Currently, more than 750 Chinese enterprises are registered in the DMCC, accounting for over 12% of all Chinese companies in the UAE.
A substantial portion of the apartments in DMCC's branded homes within Uptown Tower, SO/ Uptown Dubai homes, have already been sold. The first SO/ hotel in the Middle East will occupy ten levels of the tower, complemented by these branded residences.
