Ras Al Khaimah Unveils 'RAK Central' as the Northern Emirates' Largest Business District
The “largest commercial business district in the Northern Emirates,” RAK Central, is a massive mixed-use development being built in Ras Al Khaimah. It will feature Grade A offices.
It will be built by Marjan and have striking views of the Arabian Gulf and Al Hamra Golf Club. It will be situated on Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi Street. 2026 is when it is expected to open.
The layout of commercial spaces will be “per the needs of anchor tenants,” featuring open floor plans to allow for flexible design.
“In due course, RAK Central is expected to become Ras Al Khaimah’s largest business hub, attracting leading businesses and other entities in the region to set up their headquarters,” said a statement.
With the help of notable projects like the one Wynn Resorts is about to launch, investment from Aldar and other developers, and profits from Rakez (the Ras Al Khaimah Free Zone), Ras Al Khaimah has been home to one of the fastest-growing real estate markets in the Gulf. The RAK Digital Assets Authority and a hub for companies operating in the virtual assets space were introduced by the emirate more recently.
A destination for global businesses
“RAK Central will usher in a new era of economic growth for Ras Al Khaimah, with a focus on not only providing international investors with high-value property but also by serving as a hub for businesses,” said Abdulla Al Abdouli, CEO of Marjan.
“This aligns with the vision of our leadership to strengthen the business ecosystem of the Emirate and serve as the first choice for residence, business and leisure.”
What will RAK Central provide?
4,000 residential units and a sizable 3 million square feet of leased office space. In addition, there will be several parks, three hotels with more than 1,000 keys, and shopping and entertainment venues.
The first phase of the infrastructure and the main business complex are scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026; construction is scheduled to start this year.
Multi-phase approach
One million square feet of commercial office space will be available for rent during the first phase of construction, with additional space available for development.
34 exclusive residential plots will be among them, and developers will be able to erect residential towers up to 45 stories tall, or about 200 meters high.
As part of Phase 1, the developer Marjan will have an integrated mixed-use office complex and its headquarters.
“Following the success of Al Marjan Island, we are working on diverse projects across several locations, to create world-class master-planned communities that will serve as the ‘downtowns’ of the future – in addition to new lifestyle destinations on the mountains,” said Al Abdouli.
