Wynn Resorts Set to Launch Wynn Al Marjan Island in the UAE by 2027
With notable building milestones, Wynn Resorts gave an optimistic update on its ambitious project, the Wynn Al Marjan Island resort in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. Located close to Dubai International Airport, the project is the first integrated resort in the United Arab Emirates, combining gaming and luxury hospitality in an area renowned for its extravagance.
Construction on track for 2027 opening:
As of November 21, 2024, 55% of the structural concrete had been finished, so Wynn Al Marjan Island’s construction has reached a critical point. The resort walls have reached the 29th story, while the main tower has risen to the 26th floor. The team is working at a rapid rate, finishing about one level every week, with the goal of “topping off” by December 2025. The structure has risen an astounding 44 meters in the past 100 days.
With the assistance of more than 90 experts, Wynn Design and Development (WDD) oversees the resort’s complex architectural and design features. Wynn’s high standards for luxury and innovation are reflected in every element of the resort due to our in-house team.
Around 9,100 construction workers and more than 100 concrete trucks operate at the site every day to meet the project’s demands, making it a hive of activity. The resort’s construction requires intense activity and careful planning to ensure rapid development toward the grand opening.
The company’s press announcement states that Wynn Al Marjan Island will include 1,542 tastefully decorated rooms and suites when it is finished, with 1,121 of those rooms being physically finished. Fit-outs of 820 rooms are currently in progress, incorporating complex ceiling, wall, and floor designs in addition to necessary plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Additionally, this month has seen the start of escalator and elevator installations, which is another sign of development.
With 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a lively nightlife, and a large beach club on the Arabian Gulf, the resort intends to redefine luxury in the MENA area. In addition, the property will have 3.6 hectares of beautiful tropical landscaping, opulent private cabanas, and a huge poolscape.
Comprehensive leisure and business facilities:
A 15,000-square-meter retail strip with upscale boutiques, a five-star spa, and a hairdresser awaits guests and tourists. The resort will also include a 7,500-square-meter meetings and events center and a cutting-edge theater, ready to accommodate private parties and entertainment events.
Wynn Resorts is working with Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding to create this historic project. This collaboration demonstrates a strong dedication to building the MENA region’s first integrated gaming resort. After Wynn was granted a casino license in October, the UAE gaming market is expected to be valued at $3 billion to $5 billion, with the Ras Al Khaimah facility possibly bringing in $1 billion to $1.67 billion in gross gaming income.
In this month’s Q3 earnings call, Wynn CEO Craig Billings conveyed his optimism about the UAE, remarking, “certainly the most exciting new market for our industry in decades.” He further emphasized, “I remain incredibly bullish about the future of our company. We have the best assets in the world’s premier gaming markets and our team is the most dedicated team in the business.”
In addition to signifying a major expansion of the worldwide casino and hotel business, Wynn Resorts’ ongoing development of Wynn Al Marjan Island represents a turning point in the luxury and tourism sector in the United Arab Emirates. The resort, which is expected to open in the first quarter of 2027, will establish itself as a flagship destination and increase the region’s allure as a top travel and business destination.
